|
|
I have modified the forum board Chat software to the new FlashChat software.
It still remains similar in basic functionality as the old IRC Chat software .. but has a much "slicker" user interface as you can see in the picture below. You have the ability to configure the look and feel of the chat window and the sounds made by pressing the "Options" button at the bottom of the window.
You will still see a "Chat Room" link at the top of the Main Forum Board Index page.
If there are any members already in the Chat Room the Main Forum Board Index page will show the number of members logged into the Chat room.
At the bottom of the Main Forum Board Index page in the Who is Online section you can see who is currently in the Chat Room.
Clicking on the "Chat Room" link will open a FlashChat window and log you in to the SQR Forums Chat channel.
You will see a list of SQR members who are logged into the Chat room on the right hand side.
You can now decide whether to send private or public chat messages.
Clicking on any member name will give you several options such as getting their profile details, or sending them a (private) instant message.
To enter a public instant message that can be seen by ALL on-line members, just type your message in the field alongside the "Send" button and then click on the Send button.
Any replies coming back from members will be shown in the main chat window, prefixed by the name of the member who sent the message ...
Hope you like the new interface ... _________________ Regards,

After I tested the chat function on my Desktop PC .. I tired to run the chat function from my laptop and got some strange results ...
Looking at my flash player software I found I had an old version installed ...
Make sure you have the latest copy of Adobe Flash Player ... since this is used to run the flashchat software ...
Post any problems you have here as replies ... so I can hopefully fix any problems ASAP. _________________ Regards,
